I think I felt the first movement!

So I have been in North Carolina for the last couple of days I a few nights ago I was laying on the floor doing a 15 min relaxation cd with my sister Heather. During the cd we were in the middle of some deep breathing exercises and all of a sudden I felt this weird little thud in my belly. I was sure that it wasn't gas which is surprising for me since I am typically a gassy person. I have been feeling that same thing for the past couple of days and think it is the coolest thing! I have been so anxious to feel the movements of the baby. The only thing that sucks is that it just so happened to be the day after Joe left for a 13 day missions trip to Haiti and Puerto Rico! Although I was able to tell him over the phone of the exciting new step toward parenthood. This has been a crazy month for new babies. Four of our friends had babies this month! Congrats to all our friends! I can't wait to join you all as a first time mom!

Busy Week

This week has been a crazy one and I'm glad that it's almost over. Joe has been busy working with a couple different highschool groups that came to the camp to help build our Third World Village. We are very excited about this new project because it will allow us to give people a taste of what living in a third world feels like. The village is surrounded by concrete block walls and will have four huts built inside the walls. Our main purpose for this village is to bring in groups that are planning missions trip to a third world country who want to get a feel for the kind of enviroment they will be exposed too. I will post pictures when all is said and done. For now, it just looks like a mound of dirt with part of one wall started. I have been getting ready to take a ten day road trip to North Carolina to visit my sister Heather as well as my Aunt, Uncle, Cousins, and Grandpa. Next, I head to Chicago to visit the parents and other Aunts, Unlce's and Cousins. I am looking forward to getting out of Indiana for a few days as usual. I can only handle so much of this state at one time.

As far as baby updates go I am still feeling great. My belly is finally starting to show and getting in my way a little more. Sleeping is becoming more of a task because I can't seem to find a comfortable position since I am a belly sleeper. I can't believe I am complaining about this now when I know the last two months are going to be 10 times worse. We have our first ultra sound in a couple of weeks. We are not going to find our the sex of the baby and keep everyone guessing. Sorry for those of you who can't handle waiting, but I will post a picture of my pregnant self so you can see for yourselves that we are indeed having a baby.

This is me at 18 weeks pregnant! Not too impressive yet, but you just wait! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Where Are We Now

A good place to start my first blog would be where Joe and I have ended up after the last year. God has made plenty of changes in our life over the last two years and all of them have been changes that we knew were going to happen and some we weren't expecting.

Starting in March of 2007 we felt God telling us it was time to move out of our beautiful home we just built in Anderson Indiana and move to Converse Indiana, only an hour north of Anderson. Joe was taking a position at Rainbow Christian Camp as program director. We have been very close with this camp ever since we got married and never once did I think God would ever send us here! I actually didn't want to go! I was very content with our life in Anderson. We had good jobs, good friends, we loved our home, eveything just seemed too perfect to let go of. After talking things over with God one day I decided that if this is what God wanted then I shouldn't ignore we he was telling us to do. This gave Joe and I the opprtunity to go on our dream hike on the Appalachian Trail in March 2008. We packed up our home, moved everything to the camp, left Indiana to start our 6th month journey in the mountains, and have never regretted our choice to allow God to make our dream come true. We hiked 2200 miles from Georgia to Maine and ended our hike in September of 2008. Six months of making new friends, freezing to death in the Smokys, climbing more mountains then I ever dreamed of climbing, and being in the worst pain I have ever felt. It was the greatest time of my life!

Since our return to this boring little state, life has been a lot different. We are living at the camp in a nice little house, have given our dog Sadie a new home, adopted a new black lab puppy, and found out that we were pregnant in mid-December. We are due in late August and are very excited about meeting our first child. Lots of new adjustments, but all good ones. Joe loves his job as program director and is getting ready for his first trip to Haiti to help build a camp for the Haitian children. I have been slowing working on an independant personal training business here at the camp and hope to start training people from the area in our 20X20 weight room. God has provided for us in ways that we weren't expecting and at times that we really needed help. We have less than we have ever had and are happier then we have ever been. God is amazing and faithful when we listen to him and go where he leads.

I guess I will start blogging

Since I enjoy keeping track of my friends with blogspot I thought I would give this a shot and see if I enjoy blogging. So here it is. We actually have a website that Joe keeps up to date on a weekly basis, but I thought I would have a place for my thoughts as well. His website is joewisley.com. This is just a test post for now. I will start an actually post later in the week.
